The short version. Popaboom has no account, no camera and no photos. We do not receive the word you type — the only thing our analytics records about it is how many characters it had. You can play the whole game without giving us anything that identifies you.
We do not receive the words you type. When you enter a word for a balloon, that text stays on your device. What our analytics records is the number of characters (for example “8”), never the characters themselves. The same is true for a balloon you draw by hand — the drawing is not uploaded.
We record a small set of anonymous events so we can tell whether the game works: the app was opened, a balloon was popped (with how far it inflated, as a percentage), a share sheet was opened, a paywall was shown, a finish was selected. These are tied to a random installation identifier, not to you. They contain no name, email, phone number, address or contact list.
Popaboom offers one optional one-time purchase that unlocks unlimited pops and all balloon finishes. The payment itself is handled by the app store — we never see or store your card details. We receive only whether the purchase is active, through RevenueCat.
If the app crashes, Sentry sends us the technical details of the crash (device model, OS version, the code path that failed). This is used to fix the crash and nothing else.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ads. We do not build advertising profiles.
Popaboom does not ask for camera, microphone or photo-library access. These permissions are blocked at the code level in the app's build configuration, which means the app cannot request them even by mistake. We collect no facial data, no fingerprints and no other biometric identifiers of any kind.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interest for anonymous product analytics and crash diagnostics, and contract performance for purchases. Because we hold no account and no contact details, the data we hold cannot normally be linked back to a person. You may still contact us at jknam@savyx.kr to ask what we hold, or to ask us to delete it — include the installation identifier shown in the app's settings screen so we can find the right records.
Deleting the app also stops all further collection.
Anonymous usage events are retained for up to 24 months and then deleted. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days. Purchase records are retained as long as required by tax and consumer law in your country.
These are the only third parties that receive anything from the app.
Popaboom is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because the app has no account, no messaging and no photo upload, there is no path by which a child could submit personal information to us. If you believe a child has nonetheless provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Access to the analytics database is restricted to the operator. Because we hold no names, emails or payment details, a breach of our systems would not expose those things — we do not have them.
SAVYX operates from the Republic of Korea. Our service providers (Supabase, Sentry, RevenueCat) process data on servers located in the United States and the European Union. Where required, these transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses.
Popaboom is a game made for fun. Nothing in it is advice of any kind.
If this policy changes we will update this page and move the effective date. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
